GenreIQ listens through your microphone for a few seconds, identifies the song using ShazamKit, then looks up its genre information from Apple Music. Genres are weighted by their order of significance.
Make sure the music is playing clearly and there isn't too much background noise. GenreIQ works best with recorded music rather than humming or live performances.
Wikipedia links are sourced from a bundled database of Wikidata entries. Not every song or artist has a Wikipedia article, and coverage varies. We improve the database regularly.
Genre data comes from Apple Music's catalog. If Apple Music has a song miscategorized, GenreIQ will reflect that. Genre classification is also inherently subjective.
